DESCRIPTION: Kingsbridge at the head of the Salcombe Estuary. The Estuary is actually a ria (a flooded valley created by glacial erosion) about 6 kms long. The estuary is navigable to this point at high tide. On the left you will see a boarding point for a quite large ferry which runs to Salcombe when the tides are right.
